Declaring a major in Psychology

  • ɳ University students declare majors by the end of sophomore year or at 45 earned credits
  • Current students interested in the Psychology major should contact the Psychology department chairperson, Dr. Alyson Burns-Glover, at doctorboo@pacificu.edu as soon as possible. Students will complete an online Psychology Department form and be assigned an available advisor to initiate the completion of the separate declaration form available through the Advising Center. Students should not contact individual professors.

Psychology Requirements

In addition to the Psychology major and minor, the Psychology department offers minors in Psychological Health and Well-Being and Cultural Awareness and Knowledge.

Course Planning for Psychology

  • Courses to complete in the first two years for a Psychology major on a four-year plan toward graduation:
    • PSY 150 Introduction to Psychology (fall or spring), take as early as possible
    • Two courses from Category II: Sub-disciplines in Psychology (see for list and BoxerOnline for current course offerings)
    • If BS: Natural Science laboratory coursework, including requisite Mathematics course(s) if applicable
