Declaring a major in Public Health

  • ɳ University students declare majors by the end of sophomore year or at 45 earned credits
  • Current students interested in the Public Health major or minor should connect with a Public Health advisor as soon as possible.

Public Health Requirements

Course Planning for Public Health Major

  • (includes current year course offerings)
  • (includes two and four-year course planning)
  • Courses to complete in the first two years to finish a PH major in four years:
    • PH 101 Public Health (fall or spring)
    • PH 200 Epidemiology (fall or spring)
    • If Math Level I:
      • BA: MATH 122 College Algebra (prerequisite for Statistics)
      • BS: MATH 122 and MATH 125 Pre-Calculus (prerequisite for CHEM 230)
    • If BS, complete at least one year of natural sciences before junior year:
      • BIOL 201 + lab, BIOL 200 + lab (fall or spring)
      • CHEM 220 + lab (fall), CHEM 230 + lab (spring)
