Corey Hedger '18, MAT '19 wanted a small community and a small school where he would get the most out of his education while also being challenged every day.

Fregoso is pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Teaching and English Language Learning, or BEd, at 金沙娱乐 University. The flexible program is designed with flexibility to support community college transfer students, as well as K-12 classified staff interested in becoming teachers. Students study at 金沙娱乐鈥檚 Woodburn, eugene or Forest Grove campuses, or in hybrid programs from their own communities, and they are immersed in local schools.

LeMar Anglin was a pioneer in sports management when he graduated from 金沙娱乐 University in 2012. Now the university has a major that will help others follow his trail.

鈥淭he small campus, the close knit staff, and student cohort were exactly what I needed,鈥� said Stacy Carpenter MAT '16.

Lisa Story MAT '20 has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember.

Nancy Deniz 鈥�20 was the first in her family to go to college, but 金沙娱乐 University felt like home for the education and learning major.

Nate Anderson '17, MAT '20 earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science at 金沙娱乐 University, then went on to earn his master of arts in teaching. "I loved the small school feel and how closely you get to work with the professors here," he said.

金沙娱乐 University faculty members and supporters have advocated for several years for recognition for聽a new class of dental care provider. This month, the Oregon Legislature signed on.

In 1876, 金沙娱乐 University celebrated one of its early commencement ceremonies with a special distinction: 金沙娱乐 became one of the first universities in the United States to welcome Japanese citizens to its alumni ranks.

Daniel Altamirano Hern谩ndez 鈥�19 wants people to know that he and his colleagues at Centro Cultural are serving with purpose.

Noah Elliott 鈥�08, MAT 鈥�09 was honored and surprised to be named the Oregon Small Schools Association 2020 Teacher of the Year.

Mikaila Way 鈥�12 is working to help Indigenous Peoples reclaim, reestablish and reconnect the food systems integral to their cultures, health and ways of life. It's all part of her job as the first Indigenous peoples鈥� liaison for North America with the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.
