½ðɳÓéÀÖ

Following a grant from the Oregon National Space Grant Consortium, physics alumnus Huy Nguyen '21, along with Physics Professor Todd Duncan built a three-dimensional model showing the optimal orbit for spacecraft to "park" between the earth and moon. The model will be exhibited at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville.

Dr. Marvanova previously served as dean and professor of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy at the University of Montana. Between July 2020 and September 2021, she also served as acting dean of the College of Health, overseeing five other accredited health profession schools.

In the June issue of ½ðɳÓéÀÖ magazine, we note the passage of 50 years since the enactment of Title IX, the civil rights amendment that sought to ensure that women are treated as if they are equal to men. Many things have changed in America and at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University since then.

Dr. Jenny Coyle will become the 18th president in ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University’s 173-year history this July. She is the first alumna to lead ½ðɳÓéÀÖ as president.

½ðɳÓéÀÖ University's academic and extracurricular engagement with the outdoors may be traced to the first Earth Day in 1970.

When Title IX was enacted into law in 1972, few at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University seemed to take notice. But it's clear in retrospect that the world of higher education had changed.

As ½ðɳÓéÀÖ contemplated its mission in the 1970s, it looked to health professions studies as a way to complement the traditional liberal arts. 

Schnider, a 1982 ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University optometry alumnus, received the award at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ’s Graduate & Professional Commencement.

Stoller, a 1974 ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University undergraduate alumnus, will receive an honorary doctor of letters at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ’s Undergraduate Commencement, where he also will be the keynote speaker.

Emily Gaines '20 came to ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University to play softball — and she stayed for the relationships.

The Hillsboro Lions Club presented a check to the School of Audiology for the School of Audiology Legacy Scholarship Fund.
