A long-lost seasonal lake that was a center of life for Native Americans who lived in the Tualatin Valley two centuries ago is slowly regaining its form, thanks to the efforts of members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and volunteers from ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University.

The collected papers of ½ðɳÓéÀÖ alumnus and former U.S. Rep. Les AuCoin are now available to researchers, students and others at the Tran Library at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University.

Faculty, students and alumni from the ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training were recognized in August at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) House of Delegates held in Washington D.C. 

Following a grant from the Oregon National Space Grant Consortium, physics alumnus Huy Nguyen '21, along with Physics Professor Todd Duncan built a three-dimensional model showing the optimal orbit for spacecraft to "park" between the earth and moon. The model will be exhibited at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville.

Dr. Marvanova previously served as dean and professor of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy at the University of Montana. Between July 2020 and September 2021, she also served as acting dean of the College of Health, overseeing five other accredited health profession schools.

Schnider, a 1982 ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University optometry alumnus, received the award at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ’s Graduate & Professional Commencement.

Stoller, a 1974 ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University undergraduate alumnus, will receive an honorary doctor of letters at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ’s Undergraduate Commencement, where he also will be the keynote speaker.

The Hillsboro Lions Club presented a check to the School of Audiology for the School of Audiology Legacy Scholarship Fund.

½ðɳÓéÀÖ University alumna, parent, former professor and dean will become the 18th president.

Two historians have compiled and published a sortable list of Native people who died while attending two boarding schools for Indigenous Americans in Oregon. The online resource, which covers deaths dating back to 1881, documents approximately 275 students and 30 non-students who were buried at the Chemawa School Cemetery near Salem, and two who are buried in unmarked graves at the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.

½ðɳÓéÀÖ University faculty members and supporters have advocated for several years for recognition for a new class of dental care provider. This month, the Oregon Legislature signed on.
