The 金沙娱乐 MFA in Writing is thrilled to toast faculty writer Chris Abani on the聽selection of his collection Smoking the Bible as the 2023 UNT Rilke Poetry Prize winner, which聽recognizes a book written by a mid-career poet聽that demonstrates exceptional artistry and vision.

MFA faculty Chris Abani聽is among the finalists for the 2024 Neustadt International Prize for Literature.聽This prestigious prize recognizes significant contributions to world literature and has a history as a lead-up to the Nobel Prize in Literature.

The 金沙娱乐 University trustee leads Hillsboro-based PLI聽Systems, an industry leader and one of the fastest growing Hispanic-owned businesses in the country. He will be honored at 金沙娱乐's May Commencement at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20.
