One of the ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University Alumni Association's Emerging Leader Award winners, Carrillo aims to meet youth where they are at Oregon's Sherwood High School to identify their mental health needs.
Seven outstanding alumni will be presented with ½ðɳÓéÀÖ Unversity Alumni Association's Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award, David & Sandy Lowe Outstanding Alumni Service Award and Emerging Leader Award this October during Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Nate Anderson '17, MAT '20 earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University, then went on to earn his master of arts in teaching. "I loved the small school feel and how closely you get to work with the professors here," he said.
½ðɳÓéÀÖ University is well represented in the current Oregon legislative session, thanks to the first-time elections of a Republican senator and a Democratic representative.
½ðɳÓéÀÖ University Student Carissa Paige '17 discussed her experience of student-teaching at Two Rivers-Dos Rios Elementary School in Springfield, Oregon. She talked about the difference between traditional student-teaching and the opportunity she had at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University's College of Education where she could co-teach and plan lessons with the official teacher.
