The ½ðɳÓéÀÖ MFA in Writing is thrilled to toast faculty writer Chris Abani on the selection of his collection Smoking the Bible as the 2023 UNT Rilke Poetry Prize winner, which recognizes a book written by a mid-career poet that demonstrates exceptional artistry and vision.

MFA faculty Chris Abani is among the finalists for the 2024 Neustadt International Prize for Literature. This prestigious prize recognizes significant contributions to world literature and has a history as a lead-up to the Nobel Prize in Literature.

The ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University trustee leads Hillsboro-based PLI Systems, an industry leader and one of the fastest growing Hispanic-owned businesses in the country. He will be honored at ½ðɳÓéÀÖ's May Commencement at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20.

The alumna and former faculty member was recognized May 20, 2023, at the university’s graduate and professional commencement ceremony, where she also delivered the keynote address.

½ðɳÓéÀÖ University Professor Erica Kleinknecht, who teaches undergraduate psychology, has been awarded the Western Psychological Association’s Outstanding Teaching Award. The award was conferred April 28, 2023 at  the association’s annual convention in Riverside, Calif.

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, ½ðɳÓéÀÖ University celebrated the installation of Jennifer Coyle '90, OD '93, MS '00 as its 18th president. A week-long showcase of special events preceded the inauguration ceremony, highlighting the mission of ½ðɳÓéÀÖ and the amazing contributions of its people.
