Practice/Research Interests
I am trained as an ambulatory care pharmacist who practiced for a number of years in primary care at a federally qualified health center managing chronic health conditions as part of an interprofessional patient centered medical home. During my time in practice, I enjoy working with students and residents helping to prepare them to serve as independent clinical practitioners. At the School of Pharmacy, I have had the opportunity to explore my love for teaching pharmacy skills as well as serving as a member of our experiential team before transitioning to lead the Office of Student Affairs. In this role I have been able to work with students as they transition into their School of Pharmacy education and embark on the personal and professionalism journey that is a pharmacy education. I enjoy getting to mentor students throughout their pharmacy journey as they take their first steps into an exciting new career. My research interests are related to evaluating teaching and learning approaches specifically when it comes to supporting professional growth and development. I have a passion for working with underrepresented communities and helping increase access to healthcare education and resources, people need access to information in order to help make informed decisions and actively participate in their care.
Outside the Classroom
Dr. Nuziale is originally from New York City and has enjoyed exploring the PNW since his move now over a decade ago. His favorite place to be is the beach and the beautiful Oregon coast. He has grown to call the PNW home. He is proud member of the Hillsboro community, and is excited to call this beautiful place home and to be raising his family here. He enjoys hiking and trying out all the great food options around the greater Portland metro area. He had a long road to reach his pharmacy goals, so he enjoys talking with students about their journeys and helping them plan out how to get to the next stage of their professional lives.
