½ðɳÓéÀÖ University is celebrating 175 years of learning, growth, and belonging. Since its founding in 1849 as an orphan school, ½ðɳÓéÀÖ has continuously evolved to meet the needs of students and society. It was the first university in Oregon to offer degrees in teaching, optometry, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Today, ½ðɳÓéÀÖ is the No. 1 private research university in the ½ðɳÓéÀÖ Northwest and the second-largest preparer of healthcare professionals in the state.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are also looking ahead. Every member of the ½ðɳÓéÀÖ community plays a role in shaping the university’s future. You can help by:
- Making a gift to support ½ðɳÓéÀÖ students.
- Being a champion for higher education in your conversations with others.
- Following us on and sharing your ½ðɳÓéÀÖ story.
- Recommending ½ðɳÓéÀÖ to colleagues and friends.
- Volunteering with ½ðɳÓéÀÖ on panels, advisory boards, or the Alumni Association Board.
For those who want to engage, there are many ways to join the celebration. The State of the University presentation from Feb. 6 is available to , and the 175th Anniversary Tour continues throughout the year.
½ðɳÓéÀÖ has always been a place of home and belonging—just as Tabitha Brown envisioned 175 years ago. With your support, we will continue to uplift future generations of students.
